Our mission is to provide quality, summer enrichment programs for elementary and secondary students.
Our straightforward teaching philosophy is that learning should be engaging and fun.
We accomplish this with experiential learning strategies (ELS) and near peer teaching (NPT). All our camps and workshops make use of interactive, hands-on activities. We believe learning best takes place when students are "doing." We utilize all four of the Kolb’s learning cycle concepts: concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization, and active experimentation. Studies (see Kent) show that students benefit from ELS. Outcomes include:
Our Camp Directors are professional educators, but our lab and workshop leaders are high school, college and law school students. We invest several months training our leaders in effective NPT strategies. The benefits of NPT include:
In 2019, we began by offering a high school mock trial camp. In 2020, we added college admissions workshops. This year we are adding two new camps: a creativity camp for 4th-6th grade and a middle school Law Camp.
We are developing curriculum for future camps including Explore Dallas! Career Exploration, Life Skills, Project Start Up and more.
Students we have worked with have succeeded at the national competitive level and been admitted into Ivy League and other tier-1 schools.
